3rd & 4th Class Rock!!!

We have been learning all about rocks this week! There are 3 types of rock: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. Granite is an intrusive rock and basalt is an extrusive one. We did a vinegar test to see if the vinegar reacts with the acid in the rock. We also did a scratch test to see if it would leave a clear mark. Finally, we did a sink or float test. I enjoyed drawing my rock and examining it. We also made our own fossils from pottery clay and sea shells. I really enjoyed learning all about rocks this week!
