We studied the work of Wassily Kandinsky during art class. He used shapes and colours on his non-subjected paintings to express his feelings (e.g. a red triangle would mean as angry as grrr!!!!) The art that we did was based on the leaves of Kandinsky's tree. Kandinsky's tree was just a normal tree with a golden trunk and branches. The leaves of it were not normal! The leaves were circles with smaller circles inside that circle and so on. The circles representing the leaves were very colourful. Pink, red, yellow, light/dark green, light/dark blue and orange were the colours used. I think that having paintings with no subject would be quite hard to plan, so if he could plan all of those paintings and was that successful he must have been a brilliant artist.
